How it works

Robots used

  • Telepresence Robot

Ways to buy it

  • Rental — the machine for days or weeks.

Bot or Not?

A robot makes sense when…

  • The job is high, dangerous, or hard to reach
  • It is huge or repetitive (acres, nights, square metres)
  • You need data you will compare over time
  • You need eyes on it right now

Hire a human when…

  • It is small, low and one-off
  • It needs hands, judgement or a repair
  • Weather, permits or timing make robots awkward
  • Nobody has defined the job yet

Here's the catch for this job

  • Book drone shows 4-8 weeks ahead minimum for permits.
  • Ask for a backup weather date and what happens if wind cancels.
  • Robot rentals usually include an operator/handler — confirm.

What to specify and ask

Put these in your request and you'll get a real price instead of "it depends":

  1. How many remote attendees will use robots
  2. Venue Wi-Fi and floor plan
  3. Event date and location
  4. Venue indoor/outdoor
  5. Audience size
  6. Duration
  7. Theme/branding requirements
  8. Budget
  9. Permits/venue restrictions

Rules and regulation

Outdoor drone shows need aviation authorization (FAA waivers for multiple drones/night, EASA Specific category). Pyrotechnic drones need extra permits.

General information, not legal advice. Rules change; ask the operator which permits they hold and verify them.
