below $17,000 USD per unit (BOM, hardware cost), projection
BofA Global Research expects a China-built humanoid robot's bill of materials to fall below $17,000 by 2030, roughly half the $35,000 it estimated for 2025, according to the Bank of America Institute.

“…expects it to be roughly cut in half to below $17,000 by 2030, driven by scale effects and continued improvements in component design…”
Caveats
- A projection (modelled estimate by BofA Global Research), not a measured cost.
- Hardware cost only, not a selling price; software, margin, support and integration are extra.
- The same report projects linear actuators at 27% of 2030 BOM, rotary actuators 24% and dexterous hands 19%.
